What the Buyer Needs to Know....

~ Free Private Sale Listing Service For Canada's Harping Community

The owner of this site, West Coast Harps, is offering a free private sale listing services through The Used Harp Mart.ca for used harps owned by harpists and harp teachers who reside in Canada. Please read the Buyer's instructions below carefully. Buyers may wish to Opt-in for the Email Notification of New Listings so they can get a first look at all the new private sale postings.

The Used Harp Mart recommends you read the Buyer / Seller / Scams pages in their entirety before contacting any Seller.

~ Buyer's Rights and Obligations

The Buyer accept's the term's and conditions for the sale as they choose. The Buyer may wish to negotiate with the Seller prior to commiting to purchase to receive better terms. Please honour any commitments to the Seller as agreed.

The Used Harp Mart.ca [UHM.ca] cannot be held responsible for "the actual condition of" or "the terms of sale for" any of the harps listed on this UHM.ca website that are not expressly offered by West Coast Harps [UHM.ca Owner].

While the Editor Stephen talks with each individual submitting Seller prior to listing this cannot be construed as any form of guarantee. Please be familiar with our Disclaimer.

~ Shipping Arrangements & Agreements

Most private sale agreements fail due to imprecise shipping arrangements and agreements.

Please do extensive prior research on any shipping method proferred with a Seller's listing or Seller's sales terms. Do not pre-suppose that UPS Canada or the other couriers will transport the harp. Canadian shipping conditions are considerably different to those of the USA and most Canadian couriers generally will not accept packaging sizes for any harp larger than 22-26 strings. Larger harps will need to be trucked by LTL freight companies.

All shipping insurances will exclude climatic extremes unless otherwise stated in writing. Some carriers will not insure any musical instrument. Unheated shipping is the norm.

The Used Harp Mart Editor nor West Coast Harps cannot assist the private Seller/Buyer in the shipping or packaging of any harp sold privately from a listing on this Used Harp Mart.ca website. West Coast Harps offers full service shipping as their own Seller of their own new, used or consigned harps some of which are advertised on this site and in parallel at www.westcoastharps.com.

~ Harp Padded Cases

It is desireable to purchase a harp that already comes with its own padded case. Acquiring a suitable padded case as an after-market accessory is both difficult and expensive. A larger case can cost CAD$500 with delivery charges and taxes. This is a consideration when negotiating with a seller.

Note: Padded cases alone are not suitable protection when shipping a harp.

~ Sellers With Incorrect Listings

Please inform Editor Stephen of any listings that misrepresent or are incorrect. No rentals, leases, trades or wanteds are acceptable as part of any listing. Private used harp sales only - No commercial dealers, harpmakers, or their agents can list their wares. Canada's www.westcoastharps.com is both the owner of and the sole commercial advertiser on www.usedharpmart.ca.

~ Scams

It is the Buyer's responsibility to identify any scam about to be perpetrated upon themselves. Caveat Emptor - Let the Buyer Beware. Please be familiar with the Used Harp Mart Common-Sense Scam Guidelines
